Reliability
On-device matter suggestions work on macOS 27.
macOS 27 reports model errors differently. Maildrop now understands the new form, so a suggestion that hits a snag is retried or explained instead of being written off as an unknown failure.
Suggestions no longer guess when an email matches nothing.
Newsletters, office admin and new enquiries used to be pinned to whichever matter shared a word like "estate". Maildrop now only suggests a matter when the email names the client, the property or the matter number, and answers instantly when there is nothing to go on.
The likeliest matter is never cut from the model's shortlist.
The client's surname now outranks words that appear in dozens of folder names, so the right matter is always among the candidates the on-device model sees.
Changes
Maildrop says why suggestions are unavailable.
Instead of a generic message, the filing window and Settings now tell you whether Apple Intelligence is off, this Mac can't run it, or macOS is still downloading the model — and a drop waits up to ten seconds for a model that is just loading.
